Getting Started

Gemini Browser Setup

Use CCOS skills in gemini.google.com by attaching skill ZIP files to any conversation. Native skills support isn’t available yet, but the attach-and-go method works well for single tasks.

You need the CCOS ZIP file to follow this guide. Download it below — this page will verify your active license. If you don’t have one yet, grab a license from the store.

  1. Unzip the CCOS file and find the skills folder

Download the CCOS ZIP and fully extract it. For this setup we’re going into the skills folder. Inside you’ll see subfolders for each plugin — and inside each subfolder are the individual skill ZIP files.

    • On Windows: right-click the ZIP and choose “Extract All” — don’t just double-click the ZIP
    • On Mac: double-clicking the ZIP creates an extracted folder next to it
    • You won’t need the plugin-zips or marketplace folders — those are for other setups
    • Keep the skills folder somewhere easy to find
  2. Open gemini.google.com

Go to gemini.google.com in your browser and sign in with your Google account. You’ll need a Google account with AI access — a personal Gmail with a paid Google AI plan works best.

Gemini in the browser doesn’t have native skills support yet. You won’t be installing skills permanently — instead, you’ll attach a skill ZIP file to each conversation where you want to use it.
  3. Attach a skill ZIP to any conversation

To use a CCOS skill, open a Gemini conversation, click the attachment icon, and select a skill ZIP file from your skills folder. Then send the message below. Gemini will detect the skill format and figure out what to do.

Here is an AI skill zip file. I would like to use the skill in this file.
  4. Start with cc-help, then cc-create-dna

The best first skill to try is cc-help — it will orient you and recommend what to do next. After that, attach the cc-create-dna skill to set up your Creator DNA context files. Most CCOS skills rely on this information to produce output that matches your brand.

With the attach method, you’ll need to attach the skill ZIP file each time you want to use a skill in a new conversation. The skill is only loaded for that one conversation.
  5. A few things to know about using skills in Gemini

Gemini in the browser works for focused, single-purpose tasks. But there are some limitations compared to the desktop setups worth knowing about.

    • Each conversation is separate — if you need output from one skill in another, you’ll bring it across manually
    • Files Gemini creates stay inside the conversation — download or copy anything you want to keep
    • The attach method works with any CCOS skill ZIP, but the skill is only available for that one conversation
    • For connected workflows where skills share context and files, Gemini in Antigravity is the better option — it has a file browser and can read your Creator DNA automatically
